Secondary Dominant (V of V) I-II7-V-I
Piano sound loads on first tap. Resolved in the key of C — every chord links to its full analysis.
The classic 'dominant of the dominant'. Raising the supertonic to a DOMINANT 7th (II7) tonicises the V chord — the ear briefly hears V as a temporary key centre before the real dominant resolves to the tonic. A staple of ragtime and show tunes.
